AUDIENCE
This conference is intended for multidisciplinary members of the bariatric surgery and weight management team, including bariatric surgeons, nurses, nurse coordinators, program managers, dieticians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and psychologists. The material will also be valuable for primary care providers, insurance medical directors, insurance case managers, and hospital administrators.

COURSE DESIGN
This two day course will include case presentations, interactive lectures with question-and-discussion periods, panel discussions, and the utilization of interactive technology (ARS).

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
Following completion of this activity, learners should be better able to:

  • Discuss how health systems impact the health of the obese patient
  • Identify risk factors related to female obesity
  • Describe the pathobiome and opportunities to improve gut health
  • Identify differences in operative technique across health systems
  • Review abdominal pain and hernia treatment strategies in the obese
