The Income Tax Short Course is a two-day course that will give you the tools to maintain your business and stay on top of the latest tax legislation affecting tax returns for current and future years. Classes are fashioned for tax professionals working with individual and small business returns, including CPAs, enrolled agents, attorneys, and VITA volunteers. Please note paper registrations will not be accepted. Online registration is the preferred and secure form of enrollment.

Early bird price is $375 and increases to $425 on October 17, 2024. Walk-in registrations are accepted and will be charged the $425 rate.

Continuing education credits in ethics, federal tax law updates and federal tax related matters will be awarded upon completion of the class.
CE credits available: 16 IRS hours | 14 CFP credits | 14 CLE hours in Minnesota | 17 CPE hours

The course fee includes the Minnesota Department of Revenue Individual Income Tax Manual, the 2024 National Income Tax Workbook, and online access to multiple years of tax workbooks in a searchable format. Lunch, snacks and refreshments will be served. Indicate any dietary needs when registering.

Notes on in-person attendance

  • Participation is required by all attendees.
  • You must be present and active in the meeting room (unless it is a break time) and stay until dismissal time to receive full CE credits.

Registration cancellation policy

Read completely before registering for a workshop.

  • Cancellations must be requested by the late registration deadline (2 weeks before given session). All cancellations will incur a $30 administration fee.
  • Cancellation requests received after the late registration deadline will not be refunded.
  • To request a cancellation, send an email with all pertinent details to ext-reg@umn.edu.
