2026 Multi-state Forage Field Day
This field day held at the University of Minnesota Research and Outreach Center at Morris, MN in west-central Minnesota on August 18, 2026 will include a combination of classroom and field demonstrations. The field day is supported by Upper Midwest universities and forage associations as part of the I-29 Moo University collaboration of land-grant University Extension specialists (https://i-29moou.com) along with generous support from sponsors. Topics will include interseeding in alfalfa, grazing under solar panels using virtual fencing, manure use on forages, and managing pest issues in alfalfa.
Note that up to 4 CCA continuing credits are available to participants:

When you arrive at the West-Central Research and Outreach Center at Morris there will be signs directing you where to park. Transportation will be available to the field sites in the morning and we will return to the main building for lunch and indoor afternoon sessions.

9 - 9:30 a.m. Check-in and parking
9:30 - 9:40 a.m. Welcome and orientation
9:40 - 10:40 a.m. Interseeding in alfalfa and sorghum processing
10:40 - 11:40 Grazing innovation and pests
11:40 a.m. - 12:10 p.m. Manure application simulation
12:20 - 1 p.m. Lunch and forage ID scoring
1 - 1:45 p.m. Alfalfa disease and insects
1:45 - 2:30 p.m. Interseeding forages in the Upper Midwest
2:30 - 3 p.m. Manure nutrients and soil health follow up
Cost
Early bird registration is $20 per individual or $10 per individual for family or farm group registrations. Family and Farm groups MUST select "I am registering one or more people" when logging in or creating a new account below.
Registration rate after August 8 is $25 per individual or $15 per individual for family or farm group registrations. Attendees are encouraged to register online to help plan for meals, though walk-in registration (check or credit card) will be available at 9 a.m. the day of the event at the $25 per person rate.
If you plan to register in-person, please contact Anthony Hanson at hans4022@umn.edu so we can have an estimate of how many people will be attending.
Registration includes lunch served at the field day.
No refunds will be issued for cancellations after registration closes on August 9, 2026. Cancellations prior to close of registration will be fully refunded.
