This fully online non-credit certificate program prepares you to work as an instructional designer in a changing technology landscape. Based on a practical, authentic learning model, you’ll learn relevant theories of human learning, interaction design, and multimedia learning theory as well as instructional design models while gaining hands-on experience with authentic problems.

You’ll get exposure to a variety of digital pedagogies, as well as experience considering the different types of tools that you might incorporate into your instructional designs, including project management, authoring tools, learning management systems, open educational resources, multimedia production, graphic and web design tools. Accessibility and universal design topics will be a focal point of this course.

At the end of the program, you’ll have developed a reflective statement that discusses your philosophy and what it’s like to work with you. You’ll be invigorated with new ideas for ways to provide interactive experiences online.
