Description

The University of Minnesota Bee Lab, College of Veterinary Medicine, and local veterinarians are hosting a beekeeping workshop for veterinarians, veterinary students, and veterinary technicians. A classroom session will be taught by veterinarians on the role of veterinarians in honey bee health. A hands–on session will cover hive handling, how to inspect a honey bee colony for signs of health, and how to monitor for parasitic varroa mites. Participants will receive a kit (pollinators.msu.edu/programs/bees–need–vets/beevetkit.aspx) that they can use to work with beekeeper clients.

This event is subject to change or cancellation due to weather or other circumstances.

Registration is free and snacks and beverages will be provided.

CE credits will be provided for this workshop.
