Description

Strengthen data literacy and apply program evaluation findings to improve program management and performance.

Outline

Data and Evaluation for Program Management is designed to equip program managers with the essential skills to analyze data, interpret findings, and turn insights into strategic decisions.  Participants will strengthen their data literacy by learning to gather and translate feedback and complex data into clear, actionable narratives.

A key learning objective is understanding the principles and practice of program evaluation. Learners will gain hands-on experience in how to build and critically read program evaluations, both of which are essential for gauging effectiveness and identifying areas for improvement. Learners will learn to apply evaluation findings to refine program strategy, adjust operations, and communicate evidence-based recommendations to stakeholders.

Upon completing the course, participants will be able to interpret diverse data sources, use evaluation results to guide program improvements, and translate complex evaluations into clear, persuasive stories that influence resource allocation and organizational support.

Course Outcomes

Learners will be able to:

  • select appropriate evaluation tools to gather key insights and feedback.
  • interpret and apply data to guide program decisions.
  • create compelling narratives with data and communicate them effectively to key stakeholders.
