Description

Build practical skills in social media marketing, content strategy and AI-supported content creation.

Outline

Social Media Marketing and Content Strategy provides a practical framework for planning, creating and managing social media content that supports organizational goals. Designed for professionals who work with digital channels, this noncredit course focuses on how to build a consistent brand presence and engage audiences across today’s major social platforms.

Learners will examine how content, platform selection and audience behavior shape effective social media strategies. The course introduces how artificial intelligence tools can support content development, streamline workflows and help produce platform-appropriate posts without sacrificing brand voice or strategy.

Participants will also learn how to evaluate social media performance using analytics and key performance indicators. By the end of the course, learners will be prepared to make informed, data-driven recommendations and adjust strategies based on measurable results.

Course Outcomes

Learners will be able to:

  • create digital content for social media platforms using AI tools to support creativity and audience engagement.
  • develop platform-specific social media strategies that integrate AI with broader digital marketing goals.
  • monitor and evaluate social media performance using analytics to make informed, data-driven decisions and recommendations.

Course Format

This six-week course blends elements of asynchronous and synchronous components to provide learners with flexibility in project work, while also having face-to-face time with instructors and fellow learners via Zoom.
Each week learners will:

  • attend one 60-minute Zoom, during which students will participate in discussions and workshop their project with the instructor and peers
  • complete three to four hours of assignments or project work

Learners will be graded based on completion of assessed assignments/projects.
