Description

Are you a K-16 educator Interested in incorporating action into your course of study? Thinking about how to build empathy and understanding for local action in a global context?  Wanting to relate civic engagement to global competencies? Wondering where to start? Join educators steeped in these areas for an immersive experience in preparing students to become active in their communities and world. Daily international lunches, field trips, related readings, and experiential activities included.  Institute leads are Maddy Wegner of youthrive and Julie Bascom of Edina Schools. (There are a limited number of $750 stipends available for those educators attending this institute and interested in adapting their African related curriculum to include community action the following week, June 25-29, 2018  Taking Action Curriculum Development)
