This three-session course is for new bargaining committee members, those looking for a refresher of bargaining basics, and unionists wanting to understand the process of bargaining a contract. We will cover preparing for bargaining including surveying members and conducting research; bargaining at the table; developing proposals; and building power through member and community engagement. The final session is taught by the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS) and addresses avoiding impasse and mediation.
Course tuition is nonrefundable unless the LES office cancels a course. In the case of LES course cancellation, 100% of tuition will be refunded.
