Description

Have you ever wondered just what animal or plant you saw while out enjoying nature, but weren’t sure where to start? Would you like to contribute to science while out on your nature walks? There’s an app for that! Cedar Creek education staff will guide you through different phone applications you can use to learn more about your surroundings. We will learn how to use free apps such as iNaturalist, eBird, iTrack Wildlife Lite, Minnesota Wildflower Search and others. We will also learn how to get great photos just using our cell phones. Once we learn the basics, we will go on a nature hike to Cedar Bog Lake to observe and identify the plants and animals we see, as well as try out some new photography tricks. Wear closed-toe shoes and dress for the weather.

If you are a Master Naturalist looking for Advanced Training hours, please register for the course via the Master Naturalist website instead of this one! DO NOT register in both locations or you may be charged twice.

$6 for the general public; $5 for Cedar Creek members.
