Description

Visit Cedar Creek for a day of bringing art and science together in nature! GreenCorps member and talented artist Tillery Bailey will spend a little time teaching about different art elements, and then take participants on a journey outside to see where we can find these elements in nature. We will go on a temporary art hike to create our own masterpieces with natural materials, experience nature journaling, and create sound maps. We'll also have time indoors to explore and document what we saw with oil pastels, colored pencils, ink pens and watercolors. We will experience hands-on art inside and outside while discussing how art can be used to enhance your scientific process and how a scientific mindset can inform your art practice. Please wear clothes that can get messy, closed-toe shoes, and dress for the weather. All activities begin in the Lindeman Research and Discovery Center. Please note that this is a family event geared towards artists of all ages and levels rather than a technical class for folks with advanced skillsets.

$7 for the general public; $6 for Cedar Creek members.
