Description

Amid a crisis of poverty and inequality in the U.S., the idea of a $15 minimum wage has gone from laughable to viable in just a few years. Labor organizations in the Twin Cities and across the nation have advanced the Fight for $15 through organizing, bargaining, and legislation. Drawing lessons from campaigns in Minneapolis and St. Paul, this class develops a model for workers to build power to win bold, inspiring demands. In so doing, it encourages attendees to consider how ordinary people can make a difference in the struggle for economic justice.
