Description

Please join us for a 90 minute hands-on beekeeping clinic in our Noerenberg Mentoring Apiary.  We will perform a full hive inspection: identify colony resources (nectar, pollen, and propolis), assess queen strength and colony health, and check for mites.  We will leave time in the class for discussion of issues that beekeepers are currently facing. After the clinic, we will tour the beautiful Noerenberg Memorial Gardens with Master Gardeners and park staff.  We will look for honey bees and native pollinators while we discuss planting to provide food for these important beneficial insects. Three Rivers park staff will be offering garden tours to the public from 1:00-4:00pm so please bring family and friends! $10.00 fee, please register here.

Click here for more information about Noerenberg Gardens (https://www.threeriversparks.org/location/noerenberg-gardens).

Class requirements: Participants must be comfortable handling bees and bring their own protective equipment (veil, jacket, or bee suit).
