Description

Join us for a day of Minnesota native orchids and photography at Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve. Orchid expert David Remucal (Curator of Endangered Plants at the UMN Horticultural Research Center) and photographer Frank Meuschke (2018 Artist in Residence at Cedar Creek) will be presenting, and Katrina Freund Saxhaug, Cedar Creek graduate student and botanist, will be our field guide. David will introduce many of Minnesota's native orchids, offer tips for identification, explain orchid habitat, and discuss when to spot blooms. Frank will share techniques for crafting beautiful orchid photographs whether you use a DSLR or mobile phone camera. After lunch, cameras in hand, Katrina will guide us on a hike toward orchids in bloom on trails within Cedar Creek.

Maximum 16 participants. Course fee is $55 general, $50 for Cedar Creek members. Participants are responsible for bringing a bag lunch and their own photography equipment.
