Description

Are you interested in improving your ability to communicate to a range of audiences as a teacher or a scholar?  Are you—or will you soon be—on the job market, where you will need to convey--clearly and compellingly--the importance and significance of your research/scholarly work? If so, these workshops are for you!

These two separate workshops will help you apply elements of design, theater and storytelling to give presentations to broader audiences. The first workshop (Tuesday) will introduce basic principles of slide design and theater while the second workshop (Thursday) will focus on extending and applying those principles, as well as help you incorporate elements of storytelling into your presentations.

Participants who attend both workshops (November 5th and 7th) and complete a short assessment will receive a digital Maroon badge that will certify additional interest and commitment in the topic.

Presenters:
Paul Ching (Graduate School)
Luverne Seifert (Head of BA Theatre Performance in the Department of Theatre Arts and Dance)
Scott St George (Associate Professor of Geography)
