Have you ever wondered how much annual economic activity is generated by your local airport? Would you like to know how this translates into jobs, earned income, and spending in the local economy? If so, please join us to learn the answers to these and other questions related to how airports benefit communities throughout Minnesota.

In 2019, the Minnesota Department of Transportation conducted a statewide airport economic impact study to better understand the impact and importance of state airports. The study culminated in a public economic impact calculator. The statewide economic benefits will be announced after training is completed and the Economic Impact Calculator will be available for public use at that time.

Attendees will learn about the study methodology, the calculator, and media tools to help share the economic benefits of airports throughout the state.  Bring your computer and follow along as we review the calculator functions and work through airport scenarios.

Topics Covered

  • Data collection for the Economic Impact Study
  • Economic Impact Study methodology
  • Individual and statewide reports
