The University of Minnesota’s Office for Business & Community Economic Development (OBCED) will implement a new construction reporting platform for Targeted Business (TGB) spend and workforce effective January 1, 2020.

 

The new reporting platform SmartComp, will replace the current TGB construction reporting process for the University of Minnesota’s Targeted Business Program. Training sessions will be held at The University of Minnesota’s Office for Business & Community Economic Development at 2221 University Avenue S.E., Suite 136, Minneapolis, MN 55414.

 

It is highly recommended that everyone in your company with reporting responsibilities to the University of Minnesota for construction compliance attend this training. We will no longer accept manual reports after January 10, 2020. (last day to submit December 2019 reports)

 

Training sessions are scheduled for two hours including Q&A.

  • Tuesday, December 10, 2019 - 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, December 10, 2019 - 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, December 11, 2019 - 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, December 11, 2019 - 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

At this training you will receive:

  • Training on how to use the technology
  • U of M Operators Manual for submitting monthly reporting requirements
  • Login Credentials to manage your compliance data for TGB spend and workforce

  • System-generated reports, such as:
    • Diversity workforce compliance
    • Diversity Targeted Business (TGB) spend
    • Email and text notifications for delinquent reporting

  • Complete RFP questionnaires (658-A report)
  • Assign and report (women, minority, disabled persons )TGB information electronically (659 report)
  • Submit workforce information, project workforce hours, disaggregate gender and ethnicity
  • Targeted Business project close out documents (660 and 661 Affidavits)
  • Real time reporting access for Capital Project Management and OBCED
  • E-sign close out documents to expedite payment voucher processing
