Description

Learn how to effectively use emotional intelligence to aid in your work and personal success.

Outline

While your technical and professional skills are important, research has shown that emotional intelligence (EI) is the key ingredient to an estimated 27−46% of workplace success. EI is a set of emotional and social attributes and skills that establish how well we perceive and express ourselves, develop and maintain social relationships, and cope with challenges. With practice, you can develop your EI when you focus on core areas such as self-perception, self-expression, interpersonal skills, decision-making, stress management, and general well-being.

Following this session, you will be able to:

  • Understand the importance of EI for success in your work and personal lives
  • Increase your awareness of how to effectively use emotions, relationships, and behaviors to improve your interactions and desired outcomes
  • Analyze your strengths and opportunities around EI competencies
  • Create an action plan with EI development ideas customized to your needs
