Description

The garden season is in full swing, and you’ve spent hours planting, watering, and mulching… only to be invaded by pesky insects, weeds and diseases. University of Minnesota Extension has developed this class that will guide you through Integrated Pest Management (IPM), a research-based approach to managing insect, weed and disease pests in the garden.

This ONLINE course includes:

  • An introduction to IPM and its steps
  • What kind of pests and problems can be dealt with using IPM
  • An overview of knowledge as the core of IPM, and what resources to use to learn more about your pests
  • How to make decisions about pests in IPM, using mild solutions first and reserving chemical control as a last resort to be used with caution
  • Practical examples of IPM used on common garden pests and problems
