Description

The  new year is a great time of year to plan the future of your woodland. Your challenges might include uncertainty with your family members about the future of your land, not knowing the appropriate ways to plan your woodlands, needing financial assistance to carry out actions on your land, or not knowing how to conserve your land for the future. Join speakers from UMN Extension and the MN Department of Natural Resources as we discuss these issues and answer your questions about planning for your woodland.

This video series and live Q&A session will occur in January, 2021. Before Jan. 8, three recorded presentations (approximately 30-min each) will be made available to registrants via email. These three speakers will provide the following presentations:

  • Amber Roberts and Sam Roth (UMN Extension): "How to start the conversation about finances with your land"
  • Andy McGuire (MN Department of Natural Resources): “An overview of stewardship plans and financial incentives programs for woodland owners”
  • Christine Ostern (MN Department of Natural Resources): “An overview of conservation easements”

On Jan 19, 2021, 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., these speakers will be available for a Q&A session held over Zoom. The Zoom connection info will be made available to registrants via email.
