Description

Do good leadership practices of the past still apply in today’s world? Or do they no longer provide guidance in dealing with the complex challenges faced by leaders today?

Join us for a three-book series to discuss books that have been named as “classics” in leadership development. Each book will feature a facilitated conversation that will challenge you to grow as you explore what is still good leadership practice for today, understand the changes we need to work towards, and gain actionable insights to enhance your leadership.

You will have the opportunity to read the books, explore other resources such as articles and podcasts, and participate in an engaging conversation in March, April, and May. The 90 minute conversation will be facilitated through zoom with leadership and civic engagement educators.

Together we’ll read and discuss:

On Becoming a Leader by Warren Bennis (March 29, 9:30 a.m.)

Bad Leadership: What it is, how it happens, and why it matters by Barbara Kellerman (April 26, 9:30 a.m.)

The Courageous Follower: Standing up to and for our leaders by Ira Chaleff (May 24, 9:30 a.m.)
