Description

For an international graduate student, career decisions and immigration decisions often come hand in hand. An increasing number of international graduate students express a desire to stay in the U.S. after graduation. For example, available data highlight that at least seven out of ten international doctoral students of all disciplines intend to stay in the U.S. after graduation. But navigating job search and immigration can be challenging and requires a lot of proactive planning.

This workshop series is designed to help you achieve just that. Our key goals for the series are:

  • To empower you to make informed decisions about your career and immigration options;
  • Motivate you to engage in proactive planning;
  • Guide you to be able to leverage your international background as a strength;
  • Build a supportive community by connecting you with other international graduate students who share and understand your experiences.

What this series will NOT do is provide you with specific immigration advice related to your situation. You are also encouraged to watch a recording of an immigration attorney session that covered immigrant (green-card) pathways, or non-immigrant employment visas (ex. H-1B), and more options. The recording will be shared with all registered participants.
