Description

Calling all women wilderness explorers! Choose from one of two dates to join us for a half-day of winter learning and fun with Cedar Creek’s GreenCorps member Savanna Henning. Hike and/or snowshoe to Cedar Bog Lake to look for animal tracks and experience tallgrass prairie, white cedar swamps, and hardwood forest in all their frosty, winter glory. Sip some tasty hot cocoa as you learn about winter tree ID and take time to reflect with a nature journaling activity. Please dress appropriately and be prepared for winter hiking. You are welcome to borrow our snowshoes, or bring your own. Registration fee goes toward snacks and hot cocoa; remaining funds will support Cedar Creek's K-12 education program. Ages 12+. Questions can be directed to Savanna Henning at henni282@umn.edu.

This program takes place at the University of Minnesota's Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve. Please meet Savanna at the Lindeman Research and Discovery Center, located at 2660 Fawn Lake Drive NE, East Bethel MN 55005.
