Description

Child Welfare Foundation Training (CWFT or "Foundations") is designed and developed only for new child protection workers. The Foundations curriculum is a comprehensive, blended learning experience staggered over time for workers to further integrate knowledge and skills into practice. It provides skill and practice-intensive content, combining classroom and web-based modules. Instructor-led classrooms are scheduled and facilitated using a cohort model to enable networking and professional development.

Foundations training is only for new workers and is assigned by a supervisor or tribal leader through the Training Portal. Supervisors who want to take Foundations should contact foundations@mnchildwelfaretraining.com to learn about options.

REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS

Cohort options are listed on the right side of this page. Click the plus sign next to the cohort you wish to register for and click "add to cart" to continue the registration process. PLEASE NOTE: Signing up for a cohort means you are committing to attend all dates of that training.

Prerequisites for Cohort 118 and beyond:

New Worker Orientation: Self-Paced Modules (CWTA X110) and New Worker Orientation: Instructor-Led Enhancement (CWTA X111) will be required to complete prior to registering for Child Welfare Foundations Training (CWTA X100).

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

This course is approved for 84 CEUs. This course meets Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) and the Minnesota Board of Social Work (BOSW) CEU criteria where one CEU equals one contact hour of training (1:1). Learners who are interested in earning BOSW CEUs can access their training record by logging in to learning.umn.edu. The number of professional development CEUs earned from this training may not translate the same based on your licensing governing board requirements and calculations. It is the responsibility of the participant to apply the training hours earned within your licensing governance board, using your training record.
