Description

Invasive species detection, education and management are common and important service opportunities for Minnesota Master Naturalist volunteers. While it may seem that it doesn’t take a lot of training to do something like pull garlic mustard, better understanding what invasive species are and how an organism becomes invasive can support your volunteer experience and help you be a leader in your community. This self-paced online course is hosted in Canvas, the University’s Learning Management System, and covers six modules:
-Introduction to Invasive Species
-Regulating Invasive Species
-How Non-Native Species Become Invasive
-Invasive Species Management
-Invasive Species Case Studies
-Taking Action

Each Canvas module contains videos, reading materials, activities, and links for deeper learning and exploration. You may complete the modules any time until December 31, 2023.
