Description

The Minnesota Tree Steward program is designed for people who love trees, enjoy being outdoors, and want to volunteer with their community. You will join a group in your community to focus on learning tree care, such as how to properly plant and maintain young/newly planted trees, how to prune young trees and remove suckers/sprouts from mature trees, and/or how to monitor a young tree's health during the establishment period. After you complete the training and assessment, you will be an official Minnesota Tree Steward Volunteer!

To stay active, volunteers are encourage to complete 10 hours of volunteer work and/or participate in 3 tree related volunteer events each year. Recertification happens every 3 years, when volunteers take a short assessment to ensure they’re up to date with the latest tree standards and program information.
