Introducing two simple activities for learning and using names AND learn from language instructors who will provide short instruction on cultural norms and how to pronounce key sounds and common names in various languages.

Outline

Learning, pronouncing, and using names is essential for building community in your class. This session has two parts. You can attend one or both of them:

  • 11:30-12:00 Experience two simple activities for learning and using student's names, and encouraging students to do the same. Learning and using names is an important practice for building community, relationships and networks.
  • 12:00-1:00 Panel discussion: Learn from language instructors at the U of MN who will provide short instruction on how to pronounce key sounds and common names in various languages.

 

This webinar is co-facilitated in partnership between Internationalizing the Curriculum and Campus (ICC) and the Minnesota English Language Program (MELP).
