CWTA X403 - Foster Parent College Blended Pre-Service Training
Description
As an extension of the relationship between the Minnesota Child Welfare Training Academy (MNCWTA) and the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS), the Training Academy offers Minnesota families and agencies free access to curriculum and resources developed by the nationally recognized Foster Parent College (FPC). FPC provides innovative, research-based, and interactive courses to give foster, adoptive, and kinship parents the knowledge and tools they need. The Minnesota Foster Parent College Pre-service Training consists of four live meetings and fourteen self-paced modules (ten through FPC and four through MNCWTA).
Part of the blended learning experience in this course is accessed through the University of Minnesota’s Learning management system, Canvas. You will need a UMN Guest Account to enroll in the course and access the content through Canvas. Please note:
-
U of M Guest Accounts are different from U of M staff/student email addresses (that end in umn.edu/d.umn.edu). U of M Guest Accounts give you the option to use your current work or county email address to enroll in non-academic courses. If you are a former UMN/UMD student, please do not use your student account to enroll in this course.
-
If you have taken any courses through the Minnesota Child Welfare Training Academy, it is possible that you already created a Guest Account. If that’s the case, try logging in to your guest account with your email and password. You can also reset your password by clicking “forgot your password”.
