Are you mentoring undergraduate students, recently graduated field or lab technicians, or other early career scientists? Are you interested in building skills in effective mentorship for a future in or out of academia? Graduate students and postdocs are invited to join this semester-long Entering Mentoring workshop series, built off the Center for Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research's Entering Mentoring curriculum. The series will be facilitated by Dr. Kara Baldwin and Dr. Caitlin Barale Potter, staff at CBS's Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve and CIMER-trained facilitators. Topics will include establishing expectations and mentoring contracts, maintaining communication, fostering independence, addressing diversity and inclusion, and drafting a mentorship philosophy. 


This series is not restricted to scientists affiliated with Cedar Creek; however, those considering applying to be Cedar Creek Summer Fellows are highly encouraged to take the series and will receive additional consideration of their application for summer 2024.
