Most recent tutorial recording for Job Submission and Scheduling at MSI

In this tutorial you will learn about the data storage systems available for academic research at the Minnesota Supercomputing Institute and the University of Minnesota. An overview of the kinds of storage systems that are available, policies for getting access to them, a comparison of their characteristics, and examples of how they can be accessed will be presented. You will also be given an overview of how the characteristics of UMN storage will impact the stability and throughput of various applications and workflows. The tutorial will end by highlighting some examples of how UMN storage systems, data flows, and computation can be choreographed to allow applications to address much larger problems which enable qualitatively new analyses.

This tutorial will cover:

  • Research data storage available at MSI, and other options at UMN.
  • Policies for using these research data storage systems.
  • How to make use of data storage systems within a scientific discovery workflows
