Dr. Alok Gupta is Associate Dean of Faculty and Research, Curtis L. Carlson School wide Chair in Information Management, Professor of Information & Decision Sciences.  His research has been published in various information systems, economics, and computer science journals such as Management Science, ISR, MIS Quarterly, CACM, JMIS, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control,Computational Economics, Decision Support Systems, IEEE Internet Computing, International Journal of Flexible Manufacturing Systems, Information Technology Management, and Journal of Organizational Computer and Electronic Commerce. In addition, his articles have been published in several leading books in the area of economics of electronic commerce. He was awarded a prestigious NSF CAREER Award for his research on dynamic pricing mechanisms on the internet.  He is also an affiliate of the Center for Research in Electronic Commerce (CREC) at the University of Texas at Austin. He serves as Senior Editor for ISR and an Associate Editor for Management Science. He also serves on the editorial boards of JMIS, DSS and Brazilian Electronic Journal of Economics. He has been serving as Publisher of MIS Quarterly since 2005. He teaches courses in the areas of computer networking, electronic commerce, decision support, IT infrastructure, and computer programming at the undergraduate, MBA and Ph.D. levels.  In 2014 he was named an INFORMS Information Systems Society (ISS) Distinguished Fellow.

Dr. Alexander Szalay is Bloomberg Distinguished Professor of Astronomy and Computer Science at the Johns Hopkins University. He is a cosmologist, working on the statistical measures of the spatial distribution of galaxies and galaxy formation.  His papers cover areas from cosmology to statistics and computer science. He is a Corresponding Member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. In 2004 he received an Alexander Von Humboldt Award in Physical Sciences, in 2007 he was awarded the Microsoft Jim Gray Award, in 2008 he became Doctor Honoris Causa of the Eötvös University. In 2015 he received the Sidney Fernbach award of the IEEE Computer Society.

Anu Jain is Target Corporation’s Senior Group Manager of Data Engineering.  She has over twenty years of experience in architecture, strategic consulting and IT program delivery and has provided direction across Target for the development of Strategic Enterprise Business Intelligence (BI) Capabilities, and Data and Technology Roadmaps.  She envisioned, architected, and operationalized Target’s Hadoop journey.  She also formulated and led the strategy for the Logical Data Warehouse for Enterprise Business Intelligence, led the creation of the technology modernization roadmap across BI Data Domains, and has implemented a world-class BI architecture and technology functions.

Greg Machler is an independent consultant who is a big-picture generalist with information security architecture and complex software development experience.  He has worked at United Health Group, Target, Wells Fargo, General Dynamics, Seagate, Northwest Airlines, Siemens Energy and Automation, ADC Telecommunications, NCR and other Twin City firms.  He has been an IEEE 802 standards representative and has written multiple articles for CSO (Chief Security Officer) Online.
Center for Research in Intelligent Storage – Big Data Workshop

Brad Brech is a Distinguished Engineer and the CTO of POWER Solutions in the IBM Systems Division. He is currently focused on POWER and OpenPOWER and solutions and is the Chief Engineer for the CAPI attached Flash solution enabler. His responsibilities include technical strategy, solution identification, and working delivery strategies with solutions teams. Brad is an IBM Distinguished Engineer, a member of the IBM Academy of Technology and past Board member of The Green Grid.

Milan Shetti, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of HPE Storage, is responsible for driving the strategic and tactical technology direction for all HPE Storage products. Milan has an extensive background in the storage industry and has contributed to its industry standardization efforts.   Milan joined HPE as part of HP’s acquisition of IBRIX in late 2009. Prior to this, he served as the President and CEO of IBRIX, setting strategic direction and presiding on all day-to-day operations of the company. Previously at Sun Microsystems, Milan held a number of business and technical leadership positions, including Technical Director for file systems and Data Management group in the Network Storage division.  Milan holds a Master of Computer Engineering degree from Syracuse University, New York.

Aaron Christensen is a twelve year veteran of Veritas having worked on next-gen products and features in Veritas Labs for most of that time. He's tackled projects including the whole range of challenges for Big Data applications and analysis, to resource optimization, and security. Aaron holds a Masters of Science degree in Computer Science and Bachelor of Science I'm Computer Science from the University of Minnesota.

Doug Voigt is a Distinguished Technologist in the Chief Technologist’s office of HPE’s Storage Division.  He is chair of the SNIA NVM Programming Model TWG and a member of the SNIA Technical Council.  Doug has over 36 years of development experience in disk drives, disk arrays, storage management and non-volatile memory.  He holds CS and EE degrees from Cornell University and 33 US patents, primarily in virtual arrays.
