Whether you need someone to back your organization, invest in your idea, or get excited about following your lead, storytelling can position you to succeed. Stories can bring meaning to an organization’s brand, illustrate core values in action, emphasize the need to change, or reflect an organization’s mission, purpose, and strategy. 


In this course, you’ll learn elements of an effective story and understand how to overcome common challenges. Storytelling is a skill that can be developed and refined with practice so bring your ideas to life and inspire your audience. 

Course Outcomes 

At the end of this course, you’ll be able to:

  • understand and appreciate the power of storytelling in various contexts
  • apply storytelling elements to develop compelling stories
  • deliver your story in the appropriate format for the message to reach its target audience
  • explore when to deliver a story orally vs. in written format
  • develop, rehearse, and receive feedback on a personal story so that you can build a collection of stories to be used in a variety of situations
