Description

This 6 week, online, interactive course for veterinarians provides a comprehensive overview of avian orthopedics for the raptor rehabilitation patient. The course will cover both conservative and surgical fracture management techniques using external skeletal fixation. The course will also discuss complex cases and post-operative complications. The foundational fracture management principles that are used to determine a treatment plan for each individual patient will be emphasized and incorporated throughout the course. Raptor case examples will be used for case-based learning, and there is the opportunity for questions and discussion with instructors. The primary aim for this course is that participants learn the various treatment techniques available, and understand the decision making process that goes into developing a fracture treatment plan for each individual patient. Participants will receive 6 hours of RACE approved CE credit.

Please note: This course is a prerequisite for the Raptor orthopedics two day hands-on workshop. The hands-on workshop has limited capacity, so please register for the workshop as soon as possible if you are planning to attend.  Raptor orthopedics two day hands-on workshop requires a separate registration.
