This two day hands-on workshop will focus on the clinical skills and techniques used in management of the raptor orthopedic patient. Participants will have the opportunity to practice both conservative fracture management as well as surgical techniques. The course will include physical examination skills, bandaging, splint application, and surgical placement of external skeletal fixators. Participants will be given in the moment feedback on their surgical techniques as they place type I ESF-IM tie-in fixators in multiple bones. The 5 week online course “Avian orthopedics for the raptor rehabilitation patient - principles to application” is a required prerequisite to attend the two day hands-on workshop. This workshop is geared towards veterinarians that are new to raptor orthopedics or would like dedicated one-on-one coaching on their orthopedic surgical techniques. Participants will receive 12 hours of RACE approved CE credit.
