Waitlisted participants will have the opportunity to join the book club but purchase the books on their own.

Outline

October 2  Okinawa  "Okinawa," a graphic novel by manga master Susumu Higa, explores the effects of World War II and the continuing US military occupation on the populace and their environment there.  The book examines native Okinawan resistance to such exploitation, by employing social, political and even spiritual means.  Readers are asked to consider how climate justice might be effected in this situation.
