Description

The Community Climate Leaders Program will teach you how to take climate action in your community as you connect with neighbors who are also concerned about climate change.

This eight-week program includes

  • Five online modules covering climate change basics: What climate change looks like in Minnesota, accessible climate actions you can take, how to amplify your impact by working in community, how to integrate climate justice, and how to build your leadership skills
  • In-person and/or Zoom sessions including group discussions, climate communication exercises, building a climate-action plan, and how to plan and take climate action in your community
  • A stepping stone project to make plans for taking climate action in your community
  • Program participants will be provided a copy of The Climate Action Handbook by Heidi Roop, a climate action notebook, and other activity materials.

The Community Climate Leaders Program will teach you how to take climate action in your community as you connect with neighbors who are also concerend about climate change.

This program is a combination of online and in-person.

The online course begins on September 28. There will be two-in-person sessions: a kick-off on September 29 from 1 to 4 p.m., and a full-day session on November 4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. In-person sessions will be held at the Cook County Community Center. Zoom sessions will be held between September 28 and November 4 to coincide with online course material, to be scheduled according to participant availability.

This program is being offered on a sliding scale so that everyone is able to participate. For more information about the program and cost, please visit Community Climate Leaders.

You will receive instructions for accessing the online training after you register.

No refunds will be issued for cancellations after registration closes. Cancellations prior to close of registration will be fully refunded.

There will be one in-person session on October 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Happy Dancing Turtle in Pine River, Minnesota.
