Description

Patricia Jewett, PhD
Assistant Professor
Division of Environmental Health Sciences
School of Public Health, University of Minnesota

This course is designed to give students an overview over gun violence in the United States. Topics covered will include different forms of gun violence in the United States (homicides, suicides, unintentional shootings, mass shootings, non-fatal gun violence), disparities with regard to what populations are most affected by these different forms of gun violence, firearm safety, US gun culture, and nationwide debates relating to gun rights, firearms safety, and gun control.
