Please read all information carefully before proceeding with your registration.

You qualify to attend a 2026 recertification workshop in January or February if:

  1. Your private pesticide applicator license HAS NOT expired.
  2. Your private pesticide applicator license will expire on March 1, 2026.
  3. You are 18 years old or older.

You cannot attend a recertification workshop if you are a new applicator.

Getting Ready To Start Your Registration

  • Watch Videos and Access Reference Materials. Clicking on a link below will open a new internet browser tab so you can return to this internet tab for your convenience.
  • Guest Account Password Reset Video Already have a University of Minnesota guest account due to a past registration? Important: before you register, you need to reset your guest account password to prevent login challenges during registration.

  • Creating a new guest account because you're new to the university? Use your own valid email address to which you have immediate access! Failure to do so could result in someone else's name on your certification card. Duplicate and shared emails in guest accounts cannot be used.
  • Have your certification number and credit card information ready.
  • Private Pesticide Applicator Certification Numbers are not transferable to others, including family members. Even if your certification is expired, you must still use the same previous assigned number. Can't find your certification number? Find it online at z.umn.edu/PPATcertlookup (uncheck "Unexpired Licenses Only" box if your certification is expired).

Login help

Call UMN's Technology Help Desk at 612-301-4357 for all login related problems. Tell them you are registering for a non-credit training using a "guest account".

To register by phone, Extension registration professionals can assist you

  • Use this link to request phone registration: z.umn.edu/registrationhelp (preferred) - or - leave a voicemail at (612) 626-5174. Someone will respond within three business days. Whether you use the form or leave a voicemail, be sure to provide your name, a number where you can be reached, the course name (PPAT) and your preferred workshop date/location (2/27, Zoom).
  • Contact them at least two weeks prior to your workshop.
  • You are not registered until you speak with staff and complete your registration.
  • Registration by phone requires a credit card payment only. No checks or cash accepted.

Zoom Link and Check-in

  • Approximately 2-3 days prior to your scheduled workshop, you will receive an email with the Zoom link. Do not share this email with other applicators. Only registered participants can attend the workshop.
  • Check-in starts 15 minutes prior to the start of your scheduled workshop. You must have your applicator certification card on hand and available to show your webcam.
  • Applicators who join the workshop more than 15 minutes late or who leave before the workshop is adjourned will not be able to receive recertification credit.

Section Details

When your registration is complete, don't forget to click on "Receipt Notes" in the receipts screen at the end of your registration for important information regarding your scheduled workshop. The content of the Receipt Notes can also be found in your University of Minnesota Confirmation email. Please check your SPAM/JUNK folders if you do not see the email in your inbox.
