About the Workshop
Learning to navigate the project documents on highway construction projects can be
challenging, especially if you’re not used to navigating full plan sets or technical specifications. In this hands-on workshop, attendees will learn how to read plans and project specifications and how to understand project documents.
Topics Covered
- How the MnDOT general specifications, plans, standard plates/plans, project specifications, and addendums interact
- Third-party permits
- Find details that matter in a full highway heavy plan set walkthrough of a state aid or federally funded project that at a minimum includes pavement, underground, flatwork and SWPPP components
- How to navigate the MnDOT website to find useful information for project details
Who Should Attend
This course is intended for technical staff looking to grow their confidence and skills, especially those newer to construction inspection and contract administration.
Course Instructor
Carolyn M. Fackler, P.E., MPa, is a seasoned engineering leader with over 20 years of experience in public and private sectors, specializing in infrastructure project management and funding solutions, utility inspections, and construction administration. She has overseen multimillion-dollar roadway and transit capital projects through design and construction, and led multi-disciplinary teams to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
