Gro4-H: Building Partnerships to Benefit Youth, an online course that comes with a 44-page online tool kit, is designed to guide 4-H program staff through a process of developing community partnerships which lead to increased involvement of youth in intensive learning experiences offered over time. The course is designed and facilitated by Extension 4-H Youth Development faculty in Minnesota and Iowa. Instructors expect the course to challenge participant thinking regarding partnership techniques, offer tools that can make partnership-building practical as well as techniques to consider to partner across difference. 

Objectives

Upon completion of Grow 4-H: Building Partnerships to Benefit Youth, participants will:

  • Understand elements of community partnership building including partnerships across cultural differences.
  • Articulate benefits of partnering with 4-H.
  • Know how to achieve a partnership in their community that will lead to the involvement of new youth in 4-H clubs.
  • Know how to access additional resources to support their efforts to build partnerships.

Course fee

Gro4-H: Building Partnerships to Benefit Youth was created by Extension faculty from the University of Minnesota and Iowa State University, and is free of charge for Extension staff from those universities. The tuition fee for Extension staff learners from other universities is $250.
